Paranoid vocals portraying an unsettling social climate are reflected in the crunchy chords and ethnic influences in the percussion, and as usual with the Ranking camp the presence of live instruments alongside synthesised sounds is a winning combination. On the flip is Ruckspin & Quantum Soul’s creation, Atomise. This one sounds like a jazz quartet jamming in a desert. Wonky double bass riffs and tribal claps hold together a furious swung drum pattern, making this one a perfect set builder.
