Inspired by the rich music scene in Leeds Planas (aka Toby Davies)
began producing in 2006. Releasing primarily on his label, Ranking
Records, and often collaborating with fellow Ranking producers
Ruckspin, Quark and Quantum Soul, his first few outings immediately
garnered attention from the likes of Ramadanman, Rob Booth and Mary

Since then Planas has gathered support from DJ’s and Journalists from
around the world for his unique sound which draws mainly on Dubstep,

a direct connection with music fans who are hungry for heavy, hard-
grooving and soulful music.
Planas has taken his studio productions into the live setting with his
new 4 piece “Planas Live” project. Already booked to support Submotion
Orchestra on their March UK tour, Planas Live comprises Niall Lavelle
(Drums, Samples & Percussion), Ed Thomas (Keys, Samples & Vocals),
Claudia Georgette (Vocals, Percussion, Keys) and Toby Davies (Bass,
Keys, Trumpet, Samples & Vocals). The set is based around Planas’s
debut album, The Long Game, which is due to be released on Exceptional
